Dan's Update: August 2016

To say time flies is an understatement. Penning another update I realize its already August and we are now gearing up to assist with new development eager to open before the End of 2016. Even during the tough economic times mover and shakers are still opening and developing new venues in and around Perth and the CBD. Look out for the new Mary Street Bakery concept on Milligan street Perth at the Old Bar1 Site. Paul Aron heads up the 3rd venue and there are sure to be freshly baked salted caramel donuts up for grabs.

As the new Perth Stadium takes shape there is a range of new venues earmarked with the old burswood golf course being developed into a new food and drink precinct. Head around the Corner to Steve Palmers development on the water edge to see the ever successful Ku De Ta presenting their successful Bali venue with open decking, lounges and cocktails.

On the Beach we recently upgraded the team at The Shorehouse in Swanbourne to ImPOS version5 and City beach’s final venue is set to open at the end of the month and we are proud to be providing the ImPOS solution plus all the CCTV, alarm and access control to this new sleek setting. Moving further North, Scarborough beach has begun redevelopment and speaking with Carl from Matisse and Brad from The Shack, the businesses envisage a downturn during construction but look forward to a new level of coastal dining and entertainment. Ben and the Team from the Sandbar will also be renovating to present a new beach side bar and venue experience. So As we shiver through the winter months we look forward to a range of great additions to the WA Hospitality scene.

It was with great pleasure and excitement that Chris and Daniel accepted this award on behalf of the team at 21st and thank all of our loyal and valuable customers for their support.

In 2012, 4 years earlier the 21st team won the best technology provider for W.A. Metro and with more and more regional pubs and restaurants making their mark in the hospitality scene, it was a fitting reward for all the hard work and effort put in by the team.

Well done to the all the team and special thanks for the support of our regional customers!

Dan's Update: June 2016

Well a big congrats to the State Government and Tourism WA for finally getting some marketing push to bring people to WA.

This video was shown to international visitors at the Australian Tourism Exchange earlier this month. One of our favourite Clients Scott Taylor and a team of WA Hospitality Crew have teamed up to showcase what WA has developed and what we now have to offer.

So even with the ongoing downturn WA is growing and so are the opportunities. We have had many new venues lean on us in the latest development which include:

  • Elizabeth Quay - Elizabeth Quay will create a magnificent precinct returning the city's focus to the iconic Swan River.
  • Perth City Link - Perth City Link is the most significant inner city transit oriented development in Australia. The project will reconnect the city centre with Northbridge for the first time in over 100 years.
  • Riverside - Riverside will deliver a redevelopment unique to Perth - one that embraces the natural beauty of the Swan River. The project will transform the eastern gateway to Perth and deliver a bustling, vibrant place with entertainment, commercial, retail, recreational and residential opportunities.
  • Scarborough - Scarborough is set to be transformed, with a major revitalization to help the popular tourist area fulfill its enormous potential as one of Australia’s best beachfront destinations.
  • Chinatown - Perth’s Chinatown is being brought back to its former glory, with work underway to transform this area into an exciting destination for families, locals and tourists.
  • New Northbridge - Northbridge has transformed a formerly under-utilised area into a thriving residential and business precinct that is safe, friendly and enjoyable for the community to live, work and play in.

Dan's Monthly Update: March 2016

Fringe World, Perth International Arts Festival and many more events have kept the Perth CBD abuzz with things to do and see. While it have been great for some other venues have struggled to maintain numbers with so many new and exciting options on offer.

Recreating and rebranding is an important part of any hospitality venue's existence; recently the Colonial Group announced the remodelling of the Print hall to provide a more affordable offering. Along with these new owners, Academy has taken over Atomic in South Perth, La Lola Michael De Martes' successful Italian restaurant will re-brand to a trendy café. Elizabeth Quay is almost set for the opening of The Reveley. Tim McLernon's (Operator of the well-known Stables Bar) latest venues are fully decked out with our latest ImPOS and CCTV offering and the rooftop bar is definitely worth checking out.

Last week we met up with Michael who is the new proprietor for the historic Pagoda building (pictured) earlier this week we can share his expected open in mid-June.

The venue also boasts 360 degree views of the city and river and is set to provide the wholesome foods they have presented at Voyage Kitchen for many years.

The warmer weather might be on the way out, but Perth diners will have no shortage of choice for Autumn dining experiences with so many great venues to experience in the coming season!
