Dan's Monthly Update: February 2016

Welcome to 2016!
Though it come as a late welcome we can report we have been busy with all the new venues opening around town; Congratulations to:

Globe Hotel, Rambla on Swan, Back Beach Bar, Margaret River Brewhaus, Ivy and Jack, Odyssea Beach Café – all major venues opening over the festive season.

As the resource industry continues to slow, the hospitality sector continues to grow with new development at Elizabeth Quay, City Square and Perth Stadium. Keep an eye out for the new Perth Stadium venue of which I have seen some grand plans. Also the new Ku De Ta function centre managed through Palmer wines will add a new mix of City venues.

On a surprising note, Venueswest has selected Stadium Australia as the operator for the new Perth stadium, leaving the consortium of WA companies eager to manage the venue with many questions to be answered.

Across the River to South Perth, Michael from Atomic is working on his new brand – Automatic is underway. With the Rush of New apartments being built this precinct look to evolve as much as our city skyline is looking across the river.

Looking forward to an exciting year!

Dan

Andrew Bennet and his venues are both Industry award winners, with two of his venues and the man himself, taking out several awards at Australian Hotels Association (WA) Awards for Excellence.

When Andrew's first venue installed IMPOS several years ago, the team at 21st Century Business and ImPOS have supported Andrews venues installing ImPOS at Lucky Chan’s Laundry and Noodle bar and the recently opened Dutch Trading Company (DTC) in East Vic Park.

At the awards ceremony, the Classroom won Cocktail Bar of the Year while Lucky Chan’s Laundry and Noodle bar took out the Themed Venue Award. To top it all off, Andrew himself was awarded Cocktail Bartender of the year.

Dan's Monthly Update: November

With the weather warming up, so are WA’s new venues and developments.

Driving East across the Swan River there are some awesome construction projects which are taking shape -  particularly the new Perth Stadium and Crown Towers.  These forthcoming entertainment precincts will host many new taverns, bar and restaurants, and on many local operators will be looking to stamp their mark on this new district.

Another significant development for Perth is Elizabeth Quay - a $440 Million dollar project which is ripe and ready for investment. The Reveley is the name of the new Tavern and is set to open in March 2016 and boasts 3 levels of dining . On the ground floor will be Bar/café with Alfresco dining onto the deck, overlooking the new waterways. The first floor will be an eatery overlooking the Quay, and the top floor will be an open air roof top bar with 270 degree views of the Quay and the City.

There is also excitement in the South-West with Marco Pierre White headed to our shores and cooking at Wise Winery at the recent Taste Margaret River, owner Heath Townsend has been polishing the kitchen and cutlery which proved to be yet another great foodie festival.

Make sure you check out Margaret River Brewhouse, which is a new comer to the region.  After many years developing the concept, Aaron and the team is ready for the busy festive trade. Our team is also installing PixelPoint this month at the $3 million dollar newly rebuilt Equinox Café.

While you're travelling the South-West, be shore to visit Busselton and the recently refurbished foreshore. In Bunbury, Aristos on the Waterfront has upgraded his seafood offering,  adding Pizzas to their repertoire and designing a brand new Menu .

back up in Perth, movers and shakers Paul Aron and Michael Forde have opened the highly successful Mary Street Bakery no.2 in West Leederville - those with a sweet tooth will love their Salted Caramel Donuts. Even sweeter still, rumours continue that the boys have a few more developments planned in 2016!

As for 21st, we've been busy providing solutions for heaps of WA local businesses. If you’re looking for somewhere new to dine check out our new ImPOS and Pixel Point clients- Hola on the Beach in Cottosloe, Little Angel Coffee at Exchange Plaza, Waterford Tavern in Karawara, Meatball Bar in Mt Lawley, General Sherman at Fiona Stanley and The Dough Room in Attadale.

Until next time!

Dan
