21st Century Office Renovation Update: March 2016

Our new space will have workstations around the perimeter and a series of repair and staging benches in the middle, along with a dedicated customer training room.

This required a full strip out of old partition walls  as well as new carpets, power and data cabling and new custom built furniture. The good news is we are only 2 weeks away from relocating back to the area, and everyone in the team is looking forward to the bright new practical layout and feel that we will be proud to show our customers.

Make sure you ask us to show you around next time you are in to see our state of the art workshop and POS setup and training facility!

Dan's Monthly Update: March 2016

Fringe World, Perth International Arts Festival and many more events have kept the Perth CBD abuzz with things to do and see. While it have been great for some other venues have struggled to maintain numbers with so many new and exciting options on offer.

Recreating and rebranding is an important part of any hospitality venue's existence; recently the Colonial Group announced the remodelling of the Print hall to provide a more affordable offering. Along with these new owners, Academy has taken over Atomic in South Perth, La Lola Michael De Martes' successful Italian restaurant will re-brand to a trendy café. Elizabeth Quay is almost set for the opening of The Reveley. Tim McLernon's (Operator of the well-known Stables Bar) latest venues are fully decked out with our latest ImPOS and CCTV offering and the rooftop bar is definitely worth checking out.

Last week we met up with Michael who is the new proprietor for the historic Pagoda building (pictured) earlier this week we can share his expected open in mid-June.

The venue also boasts 360 degree views of the city and river and is set to provide the wholesome foods they have presented at Voyage Kitchen for many years.

The warmer weather might be on the way out, but Perth diners will have no shortage of choice for Autumn dining experiences with so many great venues to experience in the coming season!

ANDREW BENNETT WINS BACARDI LEGACY AUSTRALIA

Andrew Bennett claims his award

Andrew Bennett claims his award

Well, after five months of promoting their Bacardi Legacy drinks, the Australian leg of the Bacardi Legacy Global Cocktail Competition is done and dusted.

The winner? It is none other than Andrew Bennett, from The Classroom, WA, with his winning drink, The Seventh Art.

At a gala dinner held at the Cell Block Theatre in Sydney on Tuesday night, the crowd and extended Bacardi familia gathered to taste each of the Three Most Promising’s drinks, and watch as the Australian winner was unveiled.

This now means that Bennett is the Australian 2016 Bacardi Legacy champion and will go on to San Francisco to compete against the world’s best – and hopefully bring home the title to Australia. Take a look at his recipe below.

THE SEVENTH ART by Andrew Bennett

50ml BACARDÍ Carta Blanca
10ml Yellow Chartreuse
20ml Fresh Lemon Juice
15ml Sugar Syrup
1 handful of Popcorn
1 pinch of Salt

METHOD
Muddle popcorn in Boston shaker and combine all liquids with ice before shaking hard for 10 seconds. Double-strain into a chilled glass and garnish with a small ramekin of popcorn beside.

INSPIRATION
Cuba has a golden history of cinema dating back to 1897, when silent movies were first shown on the Island. Known as the ‘Seventh Art’, cinema has been influential in defining the changing Cuban identity and how they view their place in the world. Celebrating this legacy, this cocktail is refreshing, modern and will remind you of your favourite movie experience with that quintessential popcorn flavour, while keeping the classic taste of BACARDÍ Carta Blanca front and centre.

Dan's Monthly Update: February 2016

Welcome to 2016!
Though it come as a late welcome we can report we have been busy with all the new venues opening around town; Congratulations to:

Globe Hotel, Rambla on Swan, Back Beach Bar, Margaret River Brewhaus, Ivy and Jack, Odyssea Beach Café – all major venues opening over the festive season.

As the resource industry continues to slow, the hospitality sector continues to grow with new development at Elizabeth Quay, City Square and Perth Stadium. Keep an eye out for the new Perth Stadium venue of which I have seen some grand plans. Also the new Ku De Ta function centre managed through Palmer wines will add a new mix of City venues.

On a surprising note, Venueswest has selected Stadium Australia as the operator for the new Perth stadium, leaving the consortium of WA companies eager to manage the venue with many questions to be answered.

Across the River to South Perth, Michael from Atomic is working on his new brand – Automatic is underway. With the Rush of New apartments being built this precinct look to evolve as much as our city skyline is looking across the river.

Looking forward to an exciting year!

Dan

Andrew Bennet: Award Winner and ImPOS Advocate

Andrew Bennet and his venues are both Industry award winners, with two of his venues and the man himself, taking out several awards at Australian Hotels Association (WA) Awards for Excellence.

When Andrew's first venue installed IMPOS several years ago, the team at 21st Century Business and ImPOS have supported Andrews venues installing ImPOS at Lucky Chan’s Laundry and Noodle bar and the recently opened Dutch Trading Company (DTC) in East Vic Park.

At the awards ceremony, the Classroom won Cocktail Bar of the Year while Lucky Chan’s Laundry and Noodle bar took out the Themed Venue Award. To top it all off, Andrew himself was awarded Cocktail Bartender of the year.

21st Century and ImPOS is also proud to partner with Andrew as a sponsor for The Seventh Art Bacardi legacy.
