There’s no doubt that Coronavirus has us all shook, and it’s evident already that local businesses - big and small - will take a hit. Therefore it’s imperative that we look to support our local businesses.
Right now is a pretty worrying time to be a small restaurant, cafe or bar in Perth, so we’ll continue to champion the independent businesses across town in any way we can—whether that means sitting five feet away from the nearest fellow diner, buying up all the gift cards we can or switching to taking away and paying only by card.
Uber Eats and Deliveroo are both launching contact free delivery, but keep in mind that they take a pretty decent chunk of income from the restaurant, so if you're not in total lockdown please consider ordering directly from the restaurant and picking it up yourself; it makes a huge difference to them.
Whether you want fine dining or just your favourite local spot in the isolation of your lounge room, here’s who to call (after sanitising your phone).
Here are some of our amazing customers offering free takeaway:
The Reveley
PERTH
While you’ll have to dine in to get your hands on the huge cocktails, The Reveley has made all of their pizzas available to takeaway now.
Bivouac
NORTHBRIDGE
Bivouac has launched their takeaway menu and it's got all your favourites plus a few family packs which start at a very reasonable $39 for 2 people.
Duck Duck Bruce And Lions And Tigers
FREMANTLE
The team behind two of our favourite Fremantle eateries, cafe Duck Duck Bruce and restaurant Lions and Tigers, is offering takeaway on their entire menus, but that's not all. Lions and Tigers have launched group meals as well as curry packs, spice mixes and curry pastes so you can make your faves at home. They'll also be batching up their epic chai mix so you can make that at home.
Manuka Woodfire KitcheN
FREMANTLE
Manuka has just launched a takeaway menu so pick up the phone and give them a call.
Bib & Tucke
NORTH FREMANTLE
Bib & Tucker have made all of their pizzas available to take away as well as a few other delicious eats. Think pumpkin gnocchi for four people, their crispy snapper with hand cut chips and fennel tartare and a whole boned rotisserie chicken with wood-fired vegetables and crispy potatoes. Sounds like the perfect menu to enjoy down at the beach as the sunsets if you ask us.
Odyssey
CITY BEACH
The guys at Odyssea have launched an 'Odyssea at Home' take away menu that includes meal packs for families of four or couples and they've even got vegetarian and gluten free packs available. For singles, there's an extensive take away menu from which you can order any single dish to enjoy at home.
The Camfield
BURSWOOD
While there’s probably plenty of room to dine in at Perth's biggest pub and still maintain your distance, it's probably not going to be an option after the announcement of bans on 100+ people in enclosed spaces. Luckily, The Camfield is making all of their pizzas available takeaway.
